The following assignment applies to all students in Conservatory level Acting and Musical Theatre.

EMBODIMENT OF CHARACTER
Choose a character from 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE
Perform as much of the song as you'd like, but at least one minute.
Make creative acting choices that are grounded in your chosen character.
Take advantage of your environment, feel free to use props, costumes or other people.
Film horizontally, in good lighting, with appropriate background.
Film a separate slate and include it in your final video.
DECEMBER 2ND
YOUR LEGALLY BLONDE AUDITION
1 minute monologue
32 (about a minute) bar contemporary musical theatre song
(ideally this should be a song that aligns with the character you most identify with and the style of the show)
Please wear, act, and perform exactly what you would like see in the audition room.
Read the following parameters carefully.
Film horizontally, in good lighting, with appropriate background.
Slate at the top of your song with your name and title of your piece, then sing.
Slate again with the title and author of your monologue, no need to say your name again.
Say "thank you" when you are done. :)
If you would like to include the role you are auditioning for, it should sound like:
"And I would like to be considered for the role of______"
**This is not your official audition.
**If you are not auditioning for the show, simply act as if you are.

Listen through until you've found three performance options for yourself,
We will then discuss in class which piece is the best choice of the moment.
Do not slate. Instead, perform in character and stage an interesting picture.
Determine how much of the song you can make authentic and interesting, and perform up to that length. It should be at least 1 minute. You have creative license.
APRIL 20th
WILD CARD!
You can submit a video of anything you'd like. You can sing, dance, act, combine the two, perform a duet, create a sculpture, anything creative.
No need to slate, but you should title your work.
Submit this video by April 20th for viewing on April 21st
